Trailer Driver Job Description:
To convey goods, animals, or materials, tractor-trailer truck drivers travel great distances in and out of cities in tractor-trailer combo vehicles. They keep an eye on the loading and unloading of freight, secure it to avoid damage, and make sure weight restrictions are not exceeded. They must also keep up with the trip logs.
For the purpose of moving freight over the nation’s road networks, we are searching for a committed tractor-trailer truck driver. Your responsibilities will include keeping a log book with trip data, carefully planning the routes, and making sure our freight is delivered on time and safely. You must also do some little maintenance on the trailer and vehicle.

Trailer Driver Job Responsibilities:
- Delivering cargo safely, even across vast distances, and to different places.
- Determining the most effective routes and making on-time freight deliveries.
- Before leaving, make sure the vehicle and trailer are in good operating order by inspecting them.
- Before leaving, inventory loads and record the freight’s condition.
- Helping to load and unload cargo, getting the client’s signature at the time of delivery.
- Ensuring the cargo is safely distributed during the journey and securing it in position before departure.
- Checking tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels and, if necessary, making small repairs.
- Recording the number of hours driven, the length of rest stops, the distance traveled, and the cost of all gasoline, repairs, and tolls.
- Notifying management of any delays brought on by bad driving, collisions, or malfunctions.
- Following all applicable state and federal transportation laws and guidelines, including as mandated rest breaks, weight limitations, and weight modifications.
Trailer Driver Job Requirements:
- GED or a high school diploma.
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) that is applicable.
- Preferably, a certificate of completion from a competent truck driving school.
- Vast experience operating tractor-trailer trucks.
- A spotless driving record and extensive expertise in truck and trailer upkeep.
- Advanced understanding of route planning with GPS and road maps.
- The capacity to labor lengthy, erratic hours while being attentive and concentrated.
