A Truck Washer is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of trucks, trailers, and other vehicles used by a company. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the company’s image and ensuring that vehicles are safe and in good working condition. The Truck Washer performs a variety of tasks to clean and maintain the vehicles, including washing, detailing, and basic maintenance.
Truck Washer Job Responsibilities:
Wash the exterior of trucks, trailers, and other vehicles to remove dirt, grime, and other debris.

Use specialized cleaning equipment such as power washers, brushes, and cleaning agents to achieve a thorough cleaning.
Pay special attention to high-visibility areas and ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable.
Clean and sanitize the interior of vehicles, including the cab and cargo area.
Remove trash, debris, and clean surfaces such as seats, dashboard, and windows.
Vacuum and mop the interior as necessary.
Perform detailing tasks, which may include waxing, polishing, and buffing the vehicle’s exterior to enhance its appearance.
Apply protectants to prevent rust, corrosion, and other damage to the vehicle’s surfaces.
Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels (e.g., oil, washer fluid) and filling as needed.
Inspect and report any damage or issues with the vehicles to the maintenance department.
Maintain records of the cleaning and maintenance tasks performed on each vehicle.
Report any issues or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and local ordinances related to vehicle washing and waste disposal.
Truck Washer Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in vehicle washing or detailing is a plus but not always required.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance is beneficial.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and power washers safely and efficiently.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
