Sofa Makers job Description:
A sofa maker is responsible for creating upholstered furniture, such as sofas, couches, and chairs. They work with various materials, including wood, foam, fabric, and leather, to construct custom pieces for customers or for production lines. The sofa maker must have knowledge of furniture construction, sewing, and upholstering techniques to ensure high-quality products are created.
Sofa Makers job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the materials and tools required for a specific sofa or furniture piece.
- Use woodworking tools and machinery to construct the frame of the sofa, ensuring that it is sturdy and will support the weight of the cushions and upholstery.
- Cut and sew fabric or leather to create the cushions and covers for the sofa or other furniture piece.
- Apply padding and foam to the cushions to create the desired shape and comfort level.
- Install hardware such as springs, clips, and fasteners to attach the upholstery to the frame.
- Apply finishing touches such as buttons, decorative stitching, and trim to complete the sofa or furniture piece.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
