Sofa Makers job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the materials and tools required for a specific sofa or furniture piece.
  • Use woodworking tools and machinery to construct the frame of the sofa, ensuring that it is sturdy and will support the weight of the cushions and upholstery.
  • Cut and sew fabric or leather to create the cushions and covers for the sofa or other furniture piece.
  • Apply padding and foam to the cushions to create the desired shape and comfort level.
  • Install hardware such as springs, clips, and fasteners to attach the upholstery to the frame.
  • Apply finishing touches such as buttons, decorative stitching, and trim to complete the sofa or furniture piece.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
